There is a thread about a lady who had her purse stolen, and got cut in the process; "As The Thread Turns" many posts later, is a link to the official government data on non natural deaths abroad by country. 2010 in Jamaica had a drowning, a drug related incident, and two homicides.
I have been to that particular government site quite a few times, but I was told a long time ago by a very wise man who has been part of Jamaican investigations/autopsy/official documentation that non-natural deaths are reported on government reports such as the one above only a small pittance of the time. Too many non natural deaths, and the US embassy issues a travel warning, and THAT influences tourism. It's like the "official" version of "what happens in Jamaica stays in Jamaica".
I actually believe that to be true.
I am going down next month, and I ALREADY have the "miss my dog blues" just thinking about being away from them.
Do you think dogs "miss" us and grieve our absence, or do you think they have no such feeling until they see us once again and suddenly "remember" us by our voice and smell?
