Why does this keep happening to those boardies ova deh? I haven't heard anything about it on the street - but then again, I haven't been "on the street" in a few days. Sucks. If you can please post details so we can all learn lessons...

Roland 's writing is good., he's a great ambassador for Jamaica. crying shame!!!

For the first time in two years I went over there too. Had no idea it was Roland! From what I gathered he was staying in Redground and had planned his first long term stay...made it to a little over a month from what I gathered. Not sure where in Redground exactly he was but it is mostly residential there - I have lots of friends who live there and never had anything even remotely "bad" happen to them. Eyes are everywhere, so are ears. New "tourist" guy in the hood - someone was paying attention, knew he had "stuff". It sucks. This is someone who writes about his travels to Jamaica and is far from a newbie or a naive traveler - yet this robbery sent him running. I sure hope no one got hurt.

Quote from RG-`` Why does this keep happening to those boardies ova deh? `` I would suggest the vast majority of vacationers that come to Negril have nothing to do with these message boards. Imagine how many victims of crime there are that we don`t hear about. I am sure there are countless thefts and robberies that take place that you don`t hear about ``on the street``. Sucks to read about but not surprised. What a shitty thing to have happen and cut your trip short. So it goes in Negril I guess.

I am very sorry to hear this how unfortunate.

Yep agree. Because reporting crime doesn't do a lot good, most of the time. In Jamaica might do more harm than good ..... Who knows? |
