There is not a person here who needs advise on route cabs or Charters in Jamaica, but I did share with someone on facebook this:
My very short reply to taxis, for a tourist, if he is empty, is to say "I am looking for a taxi, not a charter." Asking "How much?" is the wrong approach, unless you want a charter. In that case, someone parked will be more than one rolling. Taxis are not a cash cow, so be fair with them.
A different post by a different person mentioned the Kingsford Express bus. From city to city with a max of one suitecase, you can do the whole island for 100 bucks US. There were 8 or 12 cities/stops (but dress warm cause the bus is cold.)
Not a bad deal if that is what a vacation means to someone.
My initial thought was spending 22 hours in any of those cities, but I guess I'm thinking more along the lines of doing xx countries in Europe.
Someone , again someplace else, mentioned that in Europe, some countries are only as large as some US States. The humor there was:
Five hours to cross a State? In Europe five hours will yield different types of cheese and a different language.
Getting back to Jamaica, a friend said that fruits ripen at different times in different parishes.
As for maturing things, a guy with a farm on the island mentioned how he had differant strains of green-leafy-substances. I ask if any of them were Senihellia (sp?) and I never got a response. I guess having a potient product is not a concern. Who wants to uproot all the male plants.
