I admit I know little Canadian history and made an assumption
fair enough. Here's a coles notes version: Canadians and Americans look similar but are not. Canadians were raised from birth (and taught in our schools) to think of our country as blessed. To think of the less fortunate. Not to dominate but to share, to try and level the playing field. Our entire health care system is the non partisant system. We are taught to think of others not ourselves. We don't have guns. We are the peace keepers. We have similar beliefs as France and Sweden.
As far as immigrants. If they added value I'm all for it. If they are driving cabs and running gas stations, and being telephone receptionists? Ok still no problem but you are part of our country. If you wanted your beliefs, religion, LANGUAGE why immigrate?
