I've had my credit card # hijacked a couple of times in the last few years. I most clearly remember the recent one which was in Oct. '09. I remember because I was on jury duty at the time & didn't check my VM messages for a couple of days. By the time I listened I was a day away from my card being cancelled & I use it for EVERYTHING (FF miles). Yikes!!! All I could think of was stupid criminals since there were three $1 charges for Netflix, plus 2-3 charges for $530 something at pbjewelers.com. All I could think of was "peanut butter"??? What's up w/ that? I looked it up later & it was Palm Beach Jewelers. DOH! Got a new card & account # quickly. The only place I'd used the card in the days prior to those charges was at my local grocery store. I even checked to see if their cc system had been hijacked... nope. Just a random thing but I'd still like to know how they got the code # from the back of the card to order online. I saw a story on 60 Minutes (I think) about a town in Romania where many millionaires live who do nothing except hijack cc #s. It's the main business in town. I'm just not of that criminal mind set.
The time before that the charges were for porn - LOL. THAT I remember.
