HAHAH!!.....Bravo Lola
I feel really naughty now, like I've just been caught doing something I shouldnt!
Its the kids first day back at school today, so rest assured I am awake extra early this am to try and squeeze in a few hours book writing while they are at school but the lack of sleep seems to have made my eyes heavy and brain foggy...we will see...coffee hasnt kicked in yet!
I do see the advantages of Kindle/Nook as a reading tool when travelling. Im still not convinced I would need one as I would only read 1 or 2 books at the most on an average 14 day holiday. Also, I always really like the ritual of staying somewhere and using the mini library, you know where once you have finished your holiday read you leave it at the hotel in exhange for someone else's. I have acquired some excellent reads that way, choosing something out the box for me.
Then there's the whole holiday buzz thing of buying that paperback at the airport, dont know if I could resist that and it means the book is always in my handluggae anyway and not hogging room in the suitcase.
From a writers point of view I recentley read an inspiring article about how you can make money writing your own E book. The Kindle has revolutionised the publishing world, empowering and enriching a number of so-called ‘indie†writers in the process. (Although money is not my incentive to write. I write for Greek tourist related web sites to earn a crust. Sooo boring, especially the car hire ones)!
And btw, I also found out you donâ€t need a Kindle to read Kindle books – you can download the free Kindle app and read on your PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad and a range of Android devices.
Anyway...got to crack on!!...there's a book in me somewhere x x
PS The teenage dawta is moaning bc she is friends with an American lad that she met in Ja. the first time we went. They stay in touch via FB and he wrote on her wall yesterday "Went to Jamaica over the break....." she must have the bug too!
