Thanks for info Sharleen...Out where we currently stay is in the cockpit country the soil is really nice-lots of iron oxides..(ie red soil)
and yes compost is like black gold for us gardeners...and so easy to make-and its free (with minimal work)..
Seedlings-one of the most inexpensive way to grow plants-just needs a little more TLC (as well as cuttings, shoots,etc)
And always-right plant in the right place..One that has all its needs met when it comes to types of soil,amount and type of ligh(shade, filtered sun,full-exp,etc)
water needs, and cant forget living near the ocean (salt can do a number on many plants)
Then again, some plants do well in places they're not suppose to-just got to experiment...
I think a garden really makes a house a home -even if it's just a little patio with some potted plants..
