All of the gun violence has nothing to do with tourists. All of the incidences happened late at night either in shady places (like Lime Tree Lane) or because of robbery very late at night (Gym owner). I'm convinced the odds of my getting shot on the street in Negril, the way I roll there, is about the same odds of my winning the lottery.
After talking with my friends today - who still have to live there and survive there - I will be changing up my security measures when I go out. I've become lax in what and how much I carry in my wallet, when and where I pull out my phone and camera....next season I will be more diligent.
These asshats have been in Negril for decades and they are not going away. No curfew - but lots of police presence around right now.
And my friends...they just keep on keepin' on as they always do and have for 20+ years.
