The big difference between bad neighborhoods in Negril and home, bad areas are less defined in Negril. At home you my see gang tags on fences or garage doors, there may be a higher prevalence of litter, you may see lady's of the evening or afternoon/ broken windows/ groups of similarly dressed youths ect. Most people avoid these areas unless they need to be there, any tourist to my town is not likely to stop for a beer or even gas around these areas. Negril however is homogenous, there is litter on the roadside from ricks to Banmark and beyond, no gang tags? Do they wear colors? How is anyone to know where it is safe to stand around? Maybe a zoning practice would help create clean spots for a gang free beer joint. At home many bars will not allow gang colors to enter some even have metal detectors.
