I thought I was going to retire at the end of September, I work at a research facility & we did receive more money until the end of September 2015. I too am a Grammy & ot works out best for my daughter to work two 15 hour shifts on a Saturday & Sunday. Guess who has the two 9 year old twin boys & the other "just turned four" daughter... yeah me.
I was really looking for my freedom too "but" my house needs some work, I was able to put a new roof on at the end of this summer. I was able to pay for a HUGE tree to be cut down ($800)... So anyways, I am to continue working but I only work 3 1/4 days per week now.
Also, I would like to hear some input onto what you people do with your dogs and cats when going to JA long term in the winter. I REALLY tried hard not to get another dog (my Roamie Doodle Dandy) died on March 31st... but any how, I was not able to stick to my resolve of not getting another dog. My new dog is a rescue pup shipped all the way from Arkansas. Her name was Doodles but my daughter insisted we change her name. I think I bought Roamie for her when she was in 8th grade, she named him Roamie Doodles Dandy and absolutely refused to call the rescue puppy Doodles, it was too hurtful for her.
When I lived in JA during the 1970's at one time I had to farm out my dog "Bugs Merugers" to a friend Chico who my dog always loved. He ended up moving to Miami and left my dog with a girl named Linda. When I returned in 1979 she cried when I came to get him, I felt really badly. My children's godfather Harry died two years ago, he became kind of hateful towards JA and moved to Dominica. One of his best friends from Green Island's son had been killed in a hit and run accident and his good German friend brutally murdered in Grange Hill. And he insisted all the "Shit" from the A/I's were being pumped into the beach area of Negril.
I am really looking for answers on what to do with my dog??? In past years it was easier, my Mom would come and stay at my house when I was away. She is kind of too old to do it right now.
So I have this new little puppy, I can't really off her off at my ex's because his home has a "no pet" thing in place. I was really adament about my habbits to "NOT GET ANOTHER DOG" to be so tied down and not be able to disappear from the NY horrid winters. But I really really missed coming home to my home to no dog greeting, like where you are the best thing on earth & they are SO happy to see you. I think I really screwed up in getting another dog. She is the sweetest thing though, originally we were told she was a "Chinweenie" which I think is a combination of chiw
