Quote:Ohliz, what do you think would happen to a woman in Jamaica if she went after a guy like the girl in the video. Did she said she was calling the cops and escort him to the police station?
I don't know. The woman on the train actually didn't escort him anywhere, apparently he simply got off the train. One of the commenters in the second video pointed out how dangerous it would be for her to attempt to actually escort him anywhere and I agree.
I can see a Jamaican woman yelling at a groper, actually, pretty easily. But I doubt she'd escort anyone to the police station either.
Other than the late night upper west side confrontation which was in fact stupid on my part as I was basically alone with the guy, I think the confrontation - if in a populated safe place - is absolutely the correct reaction.
One of the episodes I mentioned was when I was pretty young (8? 9?) I was on the train with my mom in the front car, looking out the front window as I liked to do back then. She was seated. A guy came up to "look out the window also" but was right behind me pressing against me. My mom, rather than make a scene, called me over to sit with her instead. I was mad, I didn't understand what the guy was doing and I didn't want to sit. But later, I understood. I'm still mad that she did that instead of yelling at the guy, though. If anyone did that in front of my family I'd certainly yell or be physical, as I was later in life. That is the model my family should learn. Not "don't make a fuss".
In some instances obviously this can escalate, look at those poor women in India who were gang raped and in one case, killed, on public transportation.
