Well this is the last day of the Pictou Lobster carnival . What a show . I was just in and out but saw lots of big crowds . I got out in a boat for the boat races . Not in a racing boat but saw them pass at 60miles/hour .
My son didn't race this year but they were crowd pleasers !!!! The winning boat is 28ft long with 1200hp . It is like NASCAR but far more dangerous . The town had more tourists than ever before . We don't have the smoke that upper Canada has and there were a lot of American cars around as well .
The music was out of this world . Firemon , see if you can show us Big Sugar Band . Sold out beer gardens and Big Sugar played an extra set to the cheering and dancing crowd . I was a watcher from afar because the walking is not very good now F*** on that , I would have loved to be in more of the events like trap hauling , racing etc but did get to see some of my old buddies from New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island and from all over Nova Scotia . What lies were told there !!! The guy that was on the boat that saved my dog Tasa many years ago was there . I bought him a beer !!!! and he told the story again !!!!
Just as we were about to leave after having a couple of ICE COLD BEER !!!! we raised our glasses to the guys who are not here now . A tear was shed , a hug was shared and a "see you ya later bye " was said as we turned and went our ways .
