I am just so sorry to hear about this tragedy. I have never met this gentleman, but I had intentions of trying his pastries. His business had such a loyal following and great reputation. My condolences to his family and friends.
I fear the most for the successful, honest, hard-working business people in Jamaica, because it is often they who are the biggest targets of those whose mentality is "what's yours is mine". Unfortunately, more and more I come across people during my travels to Jamaica who give me this impression.
I am less trusting there than ever which is terribly sad for me and for all of us who love the island and its people. My hope is that something will change where more people will be brought to justice for their crimes. The low percentage of convictions and lack of justice is to me the biggest tragedy of all.
