what if taxis cost the same there as here? - Markospoon - 10-13-2011 I wonder how much money it would cost to take a private taxi, on the meter thing to drive from Montego Bay to Negril? It cost me 50 US just to get from my house to the airport in Chicago. That meter just keeps clicking away. Tick, tick, tock. Funny, i don't mind paying for the trip going, but it's coming home that I watch that --- meter tick away. AARRRGG.

Probably an arm and a leg, since it's an hour and a half. However many places, I have traveled to, provide a reasonable alternative beyond cab for that kind of distance, some with express bus service. Since we are a family of 4, cabs (for short distances) usually work out cheaper when we are not paying per person.
