Seveen..... - oldtimer - 03-16-2011

Seveen said this........."when I hear someone say they pay in cash - I cringe because the money is probably going straight into the pocket of the person who's hand they are putting it in

meaning eventually the staff won't get paid, property maintenance won't occur and abandonment of the property may occur "
Truer words were never spoken !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can bet your last dollar that THIS old lady learned her lesson regarding that!
I actually have another place that prefers cash, but I know her; she is an elderly Jamaican owner/occupant, and I wouldn't think of troubling her by paying in anything but cash or travelers checks. As a small (read small) business owner, I know the costs associated with the need/ability to accept credit cards; as well as the bottom line right out of my small operating expense budget. However, in my line, it is a necessary evil I just deal with. Not a month goes by I am not on the phone with "Merchant Services" questioning their logic in the various %'s and fees associated with every transaction I make. Every single card (points, travel awards, debit, gift card Visa) costs ME more, and considerably so, per purchase than any other standard Visa/MC with no "perks" associated with it.

Sorry, again my mind wandered. OT, you are absolutely correct, and I thank you for the reminder! xo
