bashing the @#$% out of Jamaica/Jamaicans.

first of all, welcome.
now now frequent posters of this board, we here are an open discussion board na true ?
to the OP, most of the posters here either have a spouse or live short or long term in JA. and see/hear alot of the goings on. they share their first hand experience of the place they call 'home' or 'love' with us so as others learn without them having to experience it themselfs. (at least thats how i look at it)
Alot of the chat looks/sounds like bashing...but honest. they LOVE JA or they wouldn't still be there or with their partner.

This board is different than the others, its a living/learning/honest/get-it-out-there board, as the others are pretty much for the vacationers/tourist/photos kinda board. I for one would like to see more photos/trip reports here but HEY, i know where these folks are coming from...did that-been there kinda folks. I like the fact that i can sit back, read, and learn.

OP....wasn't it a 'great' feeling to be able to spout ya mouth off here ? neat eh....even though the responses to you were not what you were looking for, or was it ? you not gonna get no 'banned' 'slappy slappy of the hand' here........
what else ya got for us that you could possibly share ?

I have found much support & love coming from the folks on this board. The same kind of support I used to feel on the "other board" until about 2 years ago. I will always defend people's rights to speak up and "tell it like it is" on this board. I now understand (finally; I'm a bit "thick-headed," ya know!) that the "other board" operates from a totally different stance/funding source & therefore has a different leaning/perspective/path. That's OK. What I appreciate here is that I will always be able to read "the truth," even if it's not pretty. Life in pretty much every country in the world (with the exceptions of your beautiful native Canada & some of the Scandanavian countries) does NOT have ALL beautiful parts. I think that, as a visitor to a new country, I NEED to be prepared & know beforehand the difficulties that I may encounter while visiting; that will ENSURE my preparation for this & that I will "go in with eyes wide open" & have a great trip, as "knowledge is power."

What I wish for more than anything is that we could all just "agree to disagree" & move on. The "fighting" & negativity just won't get us anywhere... Believe me, this I know; there are no guarantees in life & there's very little in life that we can control; we'd do better to "let it all go......" As Rodney King once said, "Can't we all just get along???"

Why do people "creep" the "other board?"

Well at one time we all felt it was "our board" - and then the playground bully came back to "his baby" and rather than showing gratitude to the people whom spent countless hours keeping"his baby" running smoothly, he slandered the folks who tried to help and got rid of as many of the posters who weren't filling the tip cup or who had any intention of filling the tip cup.

Many of us were long time posters on N.com and it often felt like a big happy family. It broke my heart when R. put up a wall around the playground. I went over there yesterday to see what the hullabaloo was about and saw several familiar names, it made me really sad - why do we have to be divided so? There is plenty of room on the WWW for all of the Jamaican boards.

Tammy started this place for people to talk about things that were not allowed on N.com. Why does having a separate place automatically put us in the enemy camp?

I never understood this philosophy, I don't think I ever will.
