I don't have the money to get the entire round trip ticket for my vacation when I go, so will be buying the ticket to Jamaica this month and the trip back home in October. Thing is, I am not sure how to go about getting trip insurance. Will I need to get it before I purchase anything at all? And what would be the best one to use? Any help much appreciated.

Not sure, but you still may be able to purchase when buying your 1-way ticket there. Call and ask the company you are buying through (expedia or airline)
