This morning I watched a You Tube video of a whale protecting a lady researcher from a shark . That reminded me of a time about 12-15 years ago when my dog Tasa ( aka Howlin' Wolf ) fell off my boat while I was dragging for scallops . I had my gear in the water and had to pull it back , get turned around and get something geared up to get her back in the boat .Amazingly there was a pod of about 6 dolphins swimming beside my boat and they went back and stayed with her for the 15-20 minutes it took us to get her on board again . The dolphins came along side as to ask " is she alright " at which time I said " Thanks guys " and they did the sweeking noise and carried on along side my boat as I put the gear back in the water . Heart wrenching to say the least .
