Since getting banned over there I am feeling a lil down.......
Not really........ Just cancelled my May trip as the vibe is just not there anymore. It was for my 20th anniversary and I want to be in a welcoming environment.......

Where ever you do go just please share it with us!! Is this Kumbayaesque enough for you? Really though, banned? Good, that just means you are not an attention wh*re. Because I swear some people only continue to suck up and post over there because they want a larger audience for their reports and pictures and somehow their trips and that board are so intertwined that they only feel like they have been to Negril if they post it on that board. Of course, once again I could be talking out of my &ss-------LOLOLOL

Tulum is nice I was there in 2006 and I would go back. I know it's little more developed then when I was there. Since about 2001, I have wanted to go to Nicaragua, the Corn Islands are suppose to be nice and rustic, especially Little Corn. I don't think there is whole lot to do there but that may be what you are looking for. The Pacific side has nice beaches as well. There are some cool little spots in Central America just gotta look for them.

I had a wonderful time in Tulum, excellent beach, chill vibes, great food and excellent tequilla!!!Loved to go on side trip to chichen itza and coba ruins as well as swiming in cenotes…Would go back in a heartbeat… It was hotter there and no mts/streams an not as lush as Jam.. what about St Lucia…my friends came back a loved it…Anotherplace thats getting more attentionand good reviews in roatan….(wheres Brasi ?? i know he went there-he needs to come here and do a trip report/pics) or hell-if you dont mind a long flight the Cook islands in the S.pacific-like Tahiti but lot less $$$ and not as crowded..there's an airline that goes once a week non-stop out of LAX.. …that place on my bucket list….

Sad to hear you've been banned, but have to say I enjoyed the show that got you banned. And sad that another one has given up on Jamaica. I've tried a lot of other places, but, even with all of the negatives, Jamaica still is the most welcoming and has the best vibe in the world for me. Thought about Costa Rica? Definitely seems to have what you are looking for. I'd also recommend Colombia. Wonderful country, and Cartegena, on the Caribbean coast, was one of our favorite cities ever, and probably the most beautiful.

We went to Roatan once via a cruise and loved it since the reef is next to the beach, on the far side of the reef it drops off to 90 ft quickly. I wanted to go back but at the time flights were only out of Miami and Houston and so expensive you could fly to Australia for just a little more.

We've stayed at Akumal Beach Resort many times. Small A/I compared to the other properties in the area. Unfortunately, there's a "new" Secrets resort going up between them & Hotel Akumal Caribe. Also, they will be closed from September to December of this year for their own renovations. |
