I was just so relaxed that i did not want to move.
I was inside the shop, sitting in my fold up chair.
The folks would come in and say "serve".
My Bro in law waits on them and I, still in my chair, just totally relaxed and feeling no pain.
It appears that i am the boss man, sitting behind the scenes.
With my dark sunglasses on, the customers just kinda stare at me, in the shop.
It was early, like 1 PM.
Where are the kids?
Oh, mark, they don't reach home as yet from school.
Where's Mama?
She went to Sav, to stock up.
So it was just me and Bro in law.
I could tell he liked the quiet time and a nice talk to me about this and that without all the family around.
I have learned to never really take sides on any issue.
I'm just a good listener.
With all the family gone, i have run of the shop, tried to wait on a few customers, but I could not pick up on the language of most customers.
Bun and cheese.
I got that one down pat, but the rest?
Inside a while, then outside and sitting on the 2 steps leading into the store.
There are 2 ottoman like cushions we use for chairs.
When things calm down and there are no customers at the shop, we might as well be back in 1960 Jamaica.
No modern houses or cars around.
Just the sweet breeze blowing.
A few horses across the road in the fields just grazing on the grass.
A dog or two here and there.
In the daytime, between 12-3, when the sun is out, it was very nice, wind blowing and about 76 degrees.
"Man, I wish it could be like this all year round" my Bro in-law says.
By 3:30 here come the kids from school, wearing their uniforms.
They just look like little angels.
They are so small and the backpacks are almost as big as they are.
