LBB, I think your story is interesting and one I would love to hear. The way I saw the whole thing was that when you initially asked for advice it set off red flags for rasta girl. She is the one person on this board who I know (through her posts only) that lives in Northern Cali. She also shared a wealth of well informed information on this very topic just recently. I imagine when she first read this post she thought , OMG, is he is talking to me and it made her nervous. You provably heard that in early july this news came out http://www.dragonorder.org/blog/2011/07/02/Feds-Marijuana-busts-still-possible.aspx Needless to say this is late august. I can imagine growers are on edge at this point as their plants are most likely budding. If by any chance rastagirl happens to know someone who knows someone who grows she might feel a bit taken a back when she opened this thread. I never met her and I dont know who she knows, im just saying, her reaction was pretty normal in my mind. LBB, you are the same age as my daughter. She often thinks Im paranoid because I am from a different generation. For example, we didn't have cell phones when we were your age. One never spoke openly on the phone on land lines. I hear the way young people talk about ganja on the phone and i cringe every time. I often think she is naive, but she is no different then a lot of other people your age. LBB, I am an advocate for legalization. I am a medical cannabis patient here in LA. It is the people , like yourself, who are willing to step up to the plate and have made it possible for me to medicate legally. I understand and appreciate your bold statement (picture) and wish only the best for you. If I were in your shoes I would go locate in Humboldt County and start by getting a California drivers licence followed by a a med card. With a card you can visit dispensaries and perhaps meet the right people. I would get here soon, be as legal as possible and be there in time for harvest. Jezus - I'm starting to rant on like Ray!

Good luck with your book LBB. I think it would be a great read. Really, if someone posts a question that makes you uncomfortable, it is pretty easy to ignore it as opposed to turning it into a drama fest.

these are some of my thoughts...

that was not directed at you ras...it was a blanket statement toward the whole reasoning...and points really to all postings on all boards all over the world when putting ones business online (any business)...we sicilians have a particular word that is used to cover all things not to be reasoned on in a certain way and that word is "OMERTA"...omerta serves ones well in many instances...we DO NOT know who is who and who is where and so on and so on...big brother, seen? love and blessings to all (i did not mean to come off stern)...

Thanks to most of you for your kinds words. Tammy, thank you very much for you condolences. Yes my brother is with me every step of the way. It's terrible what's happening to the youth of today but it feels good to be making a small dent in the problem by providing treatment and education. Which is exactly what our governments approach should be tot he problem instead of the BS "war on drugs" LOL. Regarding the book, it's a working progress. Right now I have about 70 pages and it's mostly just stories that are in no particular order. My memory comes and goes so when I think of something cool, sad, scary, exciting, etc, I write it down. Some things are hard to write about so many of the stories are half finished. I was thinking about buying a digital voice recorder that turns your voice into text, I'm sure things would go faster. However I travel light and not sure if I want another gadget with me. I plan on working on the book as I travel, which is part of the reason why this whole topic came up. I'm leaving to travel around the world in October and since I had to stop in LA on my way to Asia, I was going to spend some time in Northern Cali during the harvest, but we'll see how that goes. My apologies if I offended anyone who's loved one is in Law Enforcement. My hatred for them and opinions are based on personal experiences. That comment had ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with Military Servicemen or women. I won't feed any more into the contents of this thread. I am who I am and was who I was and don't hide it anymore. I received some very helpful information and that's why I posted it. The last thing I will say on the subject is this. There is a HUGE difference in being naive and just not giving a shit who's watching. Bless up to every one and safe travels!! John

Wow John, I also want to express my condolences on the loss of your brother. I don't know how I would survive the loss of one of my siblings. It is a wonderful thing that you are now using your experiences to help others. Sometimes all we can do is try and make some lemonade. If you end up in Greece you must go and see the island of IOS. I lived there when I was your age and had the time of my life. It is young folks paradise or "the party island" of the Aegean. It was the place the hippies went back in the day. Hippies from all over the world would camp out in Ios for the summer and then they would go to Goa or Thailand in the winter. Its not really a place to go in the winter so I guess it all depends upon when you do arrive in Greece. It was always easy for tourists to pick up some work during high season (the summer months) doing things like giving out flyers or bouncing at a bar/club on IOS. Anyhow, I respect that you came over here and did returned several times. Sometimes folks come over, drop a bomb, stir things up, and never return. Stay safe John Oh and if your writing on a lap top please buy yourself a little (padded) external hard drive or maybe a zip stick thing to back up your writings in case anything happens to your lap top. I want to read that book some day! |
