thanks Tammy.
I posted a few words on the obit page. I recall one person held Priate in the "negative" column, but only one (and no details as to why).
He fit the "groove" of Negril, laid back but involved in making people feel good, ie positive experiences in town by going to bars and restaurant or just talking. "going to?" Call them suggestions or escorting or just being involved. Never with a $$ incentive like other people were into (ie, free food for bringing people, as was the motivation of another person i am thinking of, or the seedly characters on the street who would make recommendations and then follow you there to get "touched".)
Pretty sure he helped Rob in the early days of negrilDOTcom web site, but that's conjecture.
It's hard to condense 25 years of a person into this text. Of all the things you look forward to by going to Negril, seeing Pirate was one of mine.
I did not "hang out" with the guy so there isn't much I can tell, but I wish I could greet him again.
I'll assume he was in NS when he died, age 72.
Found a couple of YT videos. This one is of his voice.
All are 7 years old. One is at dusk in Negril, and one is of some relatives (?) descenting the cat who got sprayed by a skunk. No offense, but not worth watching.
His YT page as a few "play lists." They may be worth your time.
