For those that are interested in keeping up to date on what is happening in Jamaica, here is a site to do so. Personally I use this, as well as direct with several friends I speak with on an almost daily basis.
Good source of information, as opposed to the coconut telegraph or hearsay (for as much as the government wants you to know-its the same there as everywhere).
https://jis.gov.jm/
The JIS also has a Facebook page for those that prefer that method. Here, with the ability to leave comments, you will be able to see first hand, how the Jamaican populace feels on this particular subject.
Both sites have postings on what is happening regarding the corona virus statistics, new curfews, etc. note how the cases of covid are climbing (per my conversations with JA friends and the JIS site. Before the reopening of the borders the cases were in the single digits. In the last weeks the numbers have jumped into the triple digits, averaging over a hundred daily, and a few days over 200. Curfews that were lifted in parishes are now being implemented again, as well as closings of beaches (of course this does not effect the tourist areas, the big money always wins). Listings can be found on the mentioned sites.
