I can't believe this horrid news, lighthouse area of Negril is my neighborhood also. I don't feel comfortable in that town until well after Ten Sing Pen.
Lynch family LONG time original "NayGril" family.
I am usually there right now for the Independence Day celebrations, plus since I work at a University it is the perfect time for me to not be there. I'm for sure glad I'm not there now!
So MANY times quite a few of us would walk up Hylton Lane in the early morning times and eat those disgusting mushrooms and walk around in the far deep end laughing for hours.

I know him and his family personally and as weird as this is going to sound he is probably the last guy that would get shot...ah, but he did. And the big question, always in a tragic circumstance is WHY. WHY HIM. My entire neighborhood is in shock and disbelief - WHY HIM????
Gerry, I think you watch too many movies - I don't believe that crap about "taxes" and other "mob type" shit. Colin's family is Negril Original - his shop and his home has been in that same spot for decades. He grew up playing in that yard. The fucked up thing about all of this is that it could be as senseless as wanting to eliminate a witness to a robbery, perhaps a witness to a robbery that actually went to the police. Who knows, we'll never know. All I know at this point this morning is that a father lay dying in his shop while his daughter watched. It angers and saddens me at the same time. And an entire family and neighborhood is in mourning today.
no matter, even though colin came from an upstanding, old negril family, was a good man, he still got killed . . . these crimes are deeper than where one comes from and who one is . . .
I think it was just this past week where the giant Smynoff (sp?) event took place in Negril for the entire week, most likely bringing in a good amount of thiefs from out of the area of Westmoreland. From RJR news:
"A businessman was killed in the tourist resort town of Negril in the western parish of Westmoreland late Tuesday.
Collin Lynch, 51, a pastry shop owner was closing his business when two men drove up on motorcycles and robbed him of undetermined amount of cash and phone cards. They then shot him several times and drove off. Lynch was pronounced dead at hospital."
I am so F'ing glad I am not there right now as this is usually the time I am there for the month of Independence Day celebrations.

If this murder doesn't prove that I don't know what is - though I'd substitute the word "deeper" for "senseless".
My heart breaks.

OMG, if the neighbors find these guys they are more fucked than if they get caught by police. Street justice is VERY real.
Colin is survived by his daughter and a wife - and a large family now down 5 brothers (two in one year)....he is survived by his mother as well.

He very well may Jitterbug; I've known the family pretty well for over 10 years I've never met another daughter, only Pumpkin. I know Sharon was just in the states visiting friends/family so perhaps that is correct. Never met her though. Still - tragic no matter how many or few pickney left behind.
