So many things were done wrong here....3 children have lost their lives. My heart cries.

OMG, how horrible! Those poor children and family, heartbreakingly sad!

This is beyond horrific. Thoughts and prayers for the family

Lost of lives for the children, lost of innocence for the friends left behind. RIP
I think the article was a bit harsh on the parent considering this was not an accident but the work of evil. The reality is that many homes have bars and padlocks with little way out in case of a fire. As I said, in Jamaica I feel my mortality between the speed of the cars and the bars and padlock meant to keep me 'safe'. My house has padlocks so every morning I wake up asking ,lawd whey di key deh.

I read about this yesterday - horrific. Does anyone know where the house was exactly? Not that it matters...truly tragic

Horrible. And the article and comments on it do appear harsh on the mother (much worse comments at ONGR - as I expected).
Comments on the Gleaner article state about her job, (in quotes) "night job" and "line of work". Are those innuendos for prostitute? Or something else? Both comments imply her job led to $$ which led to targeting by thieves. I wouldn't think prostitution would be that lucrative (in Negril), but admit I'm completely unknowledgable of the trade.

Jon Tom, most working ladies I know make a nice chunk of change, especially if they have several Farrin clients sending them money WU. Just saying.....not putting them down

My welcome to Negril led some to believe my hubby name was "John" and one offer left me thinking, what on God's green earth do you think I can do for that kind of money. I was offended but must admit still wondering because I am old.

sex trade is very lucrative everywhere . . . especially if the women are working without a pimp which appears to be the case in negril. . . . very lucrative!!!
