Rambo's story just triggered a memory
During my years stay in Jamaica I found mid summer to be extremely hot in Negril. The water at the beach was filled with that brown river run off stuff, and the sea was too rough on the west end for swimming. After several days of enduring the heat I finally decided to head to the country to cool down.
I asked a Rasta friend to bring to the water falls and we headed out of town. Just around lunch time, as we were getting close to the falls, the road was blocked by a police car and a couple of officers standing in the street,
My driver had a lit spliff in his hand which he threw into the car pocket next to him. The car reeked of smoke and the first thing the cop did was run his hand through the car pocket and pulled out the large spliff.
The car was searched and lucky for me - my purse had a rip in the lining and my little stash and wad of cash had made its way under the lining . they didn't dump out the purse just looked in it for a bit . PHEW!!!! Jah was on my side that day!
My friend handed the officer 2000 J and just before taking off he turned to the officer and asked if he could have his "likkle skliff back Mon" he explained that after giving up his lunch money "he needs to catch a vibe"
Sure enough, the policeman handed him his spliff and off we went.
The police ate well that noon time.
