BP take a chill pill. Sure Gerry reported on his activities (many people omit yet do the same or similar) in a report, and yeah, it wasn't my cup of tea. But that said, they were consenting adults--from what I gathered one a long time girl friend (woman, not girl) and the other younger--but still a woman. Don't tell me it is a shocker that a guy got together with more than one person in Negril. And even so, in my book, it is not cool to get vindictive and call a person out for something they reported on in another forum unless that thing directly harmed someone. From what I can read, he didn't hurt anyone and sure if he wants to throw around money --that is his business.

Back to cliff dwellings-- Samsara has issues-- their staff is ruled meanly and tightly by the boss lady-- and it is not cool to bring local friends there. I couldn't even talk to the gardener there because he said he would get in trouble and be at risk losing his job if he chatted with me. Not cool.

When you call out a person for engaging in sexual activity for money with underage females there's no need to read between the lines.
I am very aware of what he had reported in the past but don't recall any mention of underage individuals.
Gerry ain't the first guy (or woman) to travel to Jamaica and have sex with locals for cash. Why call him out?

agreed tim. And despite what might be inferred from Gerry's report and photos of a couple of years ago--there is no mention of money for services--plus the women are clearly not underage. So to infer that he is doing something lacking in scruples, or lawless, is just that, inference.

From what was reported on--he is a generous American with a couple of JA girlfriends. Whatever. Worse is going down in Jamaica and here in the US as well. Who is to judge? Not me. And it does get me when others who don't know a person or circumstances start judging. It rankles me. Yes, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I am glad this is a forum where people can express theirs. But please take a breath and a thought before publicly labeling others.

RG really? I had enough of that last trip and himself was beyond embarrassed.

HSH we stayed at in October. It had ac but we also were in the most expensive room the penthouse.

Samsara isn't a dump imo. You get what you pay for.

And people really, if you put your biz out on the world wide net expect to have comments...negative or positive.

I stayed at Cottontree Place Hotel for 18 days in Feb.Best spot in Negril !!! The prices are Neg. SAFE !!! clean !!!! Taxi's 100J up the cliffs 100J down the beach 500J late night back from anywhere. 2 min walk from the HiLo 1 min walk from the corner local bar.380J for a VERY LARGE order of chicken and rice/peas and a 3 min walk from Juicy J's and there is a great little restaurant on site that does a good business. Highly recommend it !!!

Wasn't me Wit. I had the same feelings Himself had when I read that tome of a trip report. Negril is a small town and even tourists get a "rep" there. Nuff said.

When were you there? Because in February, and continuing on up until today, the West End has been experiencing some serious water issues. In February when the place was packed with tourists we all expect this (all of us living deep west way at least) that our pressure will drop to non-existence at some point. But the water issues have been pretty bad up into the residential areas there throughout, despite the recent rains. Its an infrastructure problem for sure.

Most resorts (if not all?) have large water tanks and as a guest there would not realize to the full extent what the water problems really are. Maybe NE's tanks were broken or they didn't have enough storage that you got the brunt of what we were feeling those last days I was on island - where we had NO water coming out of the tap. Since I've left the problem has improved and then deteriorated. My neighbors are still bathing out of 5 gallon buckets because even with a tank not enough pressure to take a shower. Not good. The "new" water system (its not even 20 years old) is becoming obsolete due to all the new construction/development in the last 10 years.

So - while I believe someone should have talked to you at Negril Escape about this, if you were indeed there the first or second week of February there was probably nothing they could have done (well...I did see The Caves get a water delivery once during that time, I guess NE could have done that...)

Its those kinds of things that help one remember that they are visiting a developing country no matter how developed it might "seem".
