I know some of you are grandparents.. I have two twin grandsons seven years old and one grandaughter fourteen months old. My daughter is a R.N. and I have been recently assigned to watch the kids each and every weekend when my daughter works.... kind of a DRAG really, because I am still working throughout the week and now my weekends have been taken away from me. So my life is now a seven day a work week situation. And I love to do gardening, yard clean/up, planting my organic garden, which is kind of impossible right now.
Anyways, to fill up some of my babysitting hours today I brought 'Emmie" my 14 month old grandchild shopping for clothes. She was SO thrilled with what I bought her, and very very proud to show off -- a leopard top with a red ribbon and red tight pants, a Pajama set in yellow with "Little Princess" and lots of animals printed on them. It just kind of broke my heart how EXCITED she was to have a couple of new outfits. She hugged them, she showed them off, she clapped her hands in happiness. I have noticed in recent months that the clothes she has been wearing have been Christmas presents from me and my mother, like repeatedly wearing.... the same five outfits.
My children never wanted for anything, they had the dance lessons, gymnastic lessons, tennis lessons, swim lessons, and so on........ as well as those expensive dental appointments..
This post is totally out of the realm of Jamaica, but still... I know some of the are grandparents, some of you are parents... some of you are caregivers.
