Any recommendations on a clean place to stay on the beach in Tulum. The hotels there look spendy and might force me to stay in town.

I will say the whole island of Isla Holbox uses bottled water so I did not get sick until I went to Cancun.  Been there twice and got sick as a dog both times. Never have gotten sick in Jamaica.

we are currently checking this place out in one of the less pricey rooms. 
Tulum is approximently an hour and half from Cancun airport, if you rent a car it is a straight shot down the highway.
