That's what blew my mind!! Machias is located in the heart of the Maine Lobster Industry and a supermarket there is selling lobster for $19.99 USD per pound is ridiculous. Washington County (where Machias is located) is the poorest County in Maine so I find it very hard to believe that any "Locals" are buying $19.99 a pound lobsters.
Can you explain if possible how this works? Is this simply a matter of greed of could it be a result of supply and demand? Although at that price I find limited demand!!
