We watched the show last night, enjoyed it quite a bit and wish them success. They seemed like nice people and it is sad to see that entire place empty.
Everything was so typically Negril - the bottles and plunger under the stairs - the dirty bathrooms - the trailer in the yard - the sink barely hanging on - bare light bulbs everywhere - the pile of broken toilets and debris - that hideous living room set in the Lobby. The thread barren sheets - lack of bed pads - sheets and curtains clashing prints -
And on top of it all, they want 100 dollars a night! They have 75 empty rooms and are only willing to go down 5 dollars? Crazy!
As I have been away from Jamaica I think of all the things we are willing to put up with that we would not put up with elsewhere. I could see spending $60 per night for those rooms but not more.
Even after the renovations would you spend $100 per night to sleep on the morass side? Perhaps if there was a super duper breakfast included - one with Blue Mt coffee and the works perhaps. The talk of food never came up.
I was wondering where on would point a web cam - at the pool? at the trailer? at the front door? I think the only thing that would bring people down there for a web cast would be free rum punch.
