Doc, yes - you do pass it when you take the "other" road to Negril (through Sav, as opposed to hugging the coast). I'd done that road quite a few times to the airport and the place never registered. So when we picked up our friends at the airport in late December we asked our driver to go that way just so they can stuff face with real and really good jerk as their first "taste" of Jamaica.
The jerk is different than Biggas or other touristy places in Negril - not "saucy" at all, cooked on the real-deal wood, spiced perfectly without burning your mouth off (though as I mentioned the granny sauce does pack a punch). I still love Tony's jerk on the west end near PeeWees and No Limit - and its convenient to home. But as a lunch destination, this was only about a 1 to 1.5 hour ride and a fun ride at that.
Love riding the bike (or actually being the bike-bitch). Future posts (soon come) will get more into how I really get into being a "part" of the scenery as opposed to in a car or bus where I feel more removed.
Hub wants to buy a bike down there. God help me.
