my friend had cataract surgery on one eye (still waiting for the other one to be done) in Toronto. He had to go to an eye doctor and then be referred to a clinic for the actual surgery and be put on a waiting list. The actual surgery was covered by the health care..however he opted for a corrective lens to be put in which was an addition fee. He also had to get special drops that he put in several times per day for I think 6 weeks and had to go back to the clinic for a recheck. He now sees very well in that eye and is wanting to get the other one done. He was able to get in quicker as his right eye was pretty bad.
He went to The Kensington Eye Institute in Toronto. You can google it to get all of the infomation. I wish your wife good luck. My friend is very pleased with his right eye and the increased vision he now has, especially at night.
