CBB; dude... I don't know what any of that is about? Why would I not want rain to reach the roots? And they're fabric pots, not drums. Why not contribute in a constructive manner? I do not need "advice", I have been doing these things for decades... I don't think I'll ever understand why you post in the way that you do. We're having a nice conversation here, why not join the discussion, sincerely? It just seems like you enjoy the low key trolling, but I do not. I endeavor to speak clearly, concisely, and accurately. Generally with a positive vibe, until I'm prodded.
Anyhow, Firemon, I will check my po box tomorrow, I haven't been there in a bit. Good looking out Firemon! I'd suggest that when you get into the Pine Tar seeds, that you do a diluted peroxide soak for a couple hours. Most of the Pine Tar crosses I ran this year got a bit of Leaf Septoria fungus, which I think has to be from the seed husk. It's only on the Pine Tar crosses, and nothing else. Fungal spores can survive on the seed husk for a long time. Dilute distilled water by 10% with drugstore peroxide (3%), and soak them. Then pop them in whatever way you normally do, and you'll be good to go. But again, those, and the MB15 x RWC are producing some real monsters.
N75; yes, I'm progressively moving to larger and larger containers. More roots; more fruits... indeed. I have a few that should hit the 4-5# mark, if things finish out well. In northern California, they usually use 100-225 gallon fabric pots, and those boys are pulling up to 20# from a single plant. I'll never hit those numbers here in Michigan, but I think 5-10 is doable. The beautiful thing is that the way our laws are written here, I can possess any amount of herb, as long as I grew it. 1000#? No problem.
