Yep, lotsa spirit in those signs. "No Jiggaloww; No Jessy Bell & Informer; No Schoolers Buy Rolling Papers; etc."
Would love to send business their way (and I can provide details on how to get there) but fear it may be a bit too far off the beaten path (Green Island) for most--although it is along the highway near the school. Route taxi from the beach in Negril to Green Island is $170J.
A rasta flag flies high overhead on a pole above the branches of the breadfruit tree around which the bar is being built.
Smith744 would marvel at the inexpensive manner it's being constructed with split and quartered bamboo being woven; short tree branches nailed together to make longer beams/posts; with all of the work being done by machete and a hammer with a twisted misaligned grip/handle. In fact, Bill knows this proprieter having once taken a series of photos of her in Lucea and turning them into a collage she still has laminated and hanging on her bedroom wall.
I made a little contribution ("The Red, Green, and Gold Plan") going to a hardware store in Negril not far from the post office and buying three quarts of paint along with a brush and some thinner so she could highlight here and there with a little color.
