Looking back the most well-attended show during my two-weeks was easily Tarrus Riley. He's pretty popular in Jamaica.
Taking his chalice to the show.
Since I hadn't been to the grocery store yet I ate out on my first morning in Negril.
It was a small establishment with only a couple customers and yet it took forever, not to mention they were apparently running low on essential provisions like coffee. Puh-lease, if I can't get a refill can we at least get our check? No, you must wait and wait for that too until you have to go up to the counter and ask for it a second time. Then after you pay you get to wait yet again until they finally bring you your change. Ack, it's mid-morning. My vacation is being frittered away by aggravatingly slow (ahem poor) service. Don't they realize there's an ocean out there I can't wait to swim in rather than sit here in front of my dirty dishes without a cup of coffee?
I guess it takes awhile to adjust to Island Time.
One of the more excruciating waits I endured came at Alfred's when I handed over $1000J for an admittedly strong $500J rum punch. Here the band's playing, my girl is dancing by herself up by the stage waiting for me, and I've got to wait 10 minutes or more as the cashier lines up three or four dinner tickets to work through before she'll give the bartender my change. Bottleneck city.
The female vocalist was fabulous. Her name sounded something like Crystal. She does a great renditition of Rita Marley's One Draw. I was also quoting one of her songs the rest of trip to my ja gf. She sang it in patois so I didn't catch all of the lyrics but there was no mistaking the few dozen times she said "sit on the cock, sit on the cock." That song paid great dividends.
