I am not sure yet - I read that one should dig them up, but winters are pretty mild here.  I will learn.  I planted a few tubers - a bit late so not sure what will happen and a couple small dahlias I picked up with some other annuals. 
It is a shame that you lost some.
I have a ton of Dahlia pictures from my old neighbor in LA - he raised the most beautiful dahlias and i was quite obsessed with thaking pictures of them

We have been to the Tulip Festival two years now and it is really amazing - i dont think I shared any of this years pictures - ill did gsome of those out too.

I am really excited about the Dahlia festival - you may just have to put Oregon in August on your bucket list!
