When I view them, it takes me back to my happy place– lol.We have stayed at Sandals in MoBay, Whithouse and Negril. These resorts are expensive and quite honestly we do not drink or eat for 400.00-600.00/day. Mind you the service is exceptional. We stayed at Grand Pineapple about two years ago and at that time we paid $3,200.00 all inclusive including flight for one week. Our vacation in Feb. 2014, we used our airline rewards points so one return flight was covered. The groceries are the same as what we pay here. We started at Mega Mart where we bought our beer and rum, breakfast food. We shopped at fruit/veggie markets and Hi-Lo in Negril. We ate very well – Cosmo’s, Valentine dinner at Sandy Haven (this was an excellent deal and great food – $60.00 for two – 4 course meal including a glass of bubbly, Ahbee’s, Seastar buffet, Kuyaba and lobster at Fireman’s Pit. Some days we would just stay in and have a pasta, pizza or patties with a salad. You can get box meals very cheap - $5.00 for jerk chicken including rice and salad (one meal enough for the two of us). You can enjoy a beer at the beach for 1.40 each – Myrnas. There’s a lot of bars that have happy hour too. Bottom line, I think it depends on the individual – where you stay and eat. This worked best for us as we enjoy cooking, making our own drinks and the benefit of using our reward points for our flight. We did spend less than staying at A1.
