We had made plans to spend our last Monday in cousins cove. "Come to cove" trevor said, we'll party in the yard. I had no clue,we were going to a grave digging. Miss Nerissa ,a friend, who we knew from 6 or 7 years ago,had lost her father. We were greeted warmly.
There were people everywhere, all around the little cemetery . There was food cooking in one area, a large bar in another. All the community ,shows up to lend a hand. They started digging the tomb at sunrise. then they lay blocks, and cement . Everyone working, and drinking. The food never stops. They had served breakfast ,and now lunch. we had fried chicken with 'fixins . It was festive ,not somber. Talked to a lot of old acquaitances ,some who remembered us,some did not. We finished the day by the sea ,and in the pool . Got to meet Addie. Trevors youngest, only 3, and in school .
We ended the day/night at Byrons shop, another Monday customer appreciation night, serving up curried lobster, and dancing in the street.
