This thread led me to learn more about bleaching. I had always been aware of the practice but never realized quite how prevalent it is. I had thought that Jamaicans bleached because there were more opportunities offered to people with lighter skin tones. Now I am seeing/thinking that it is a fad/status thing. Just like tanning and cosmetic surgeries though it can go too far, at least for my taste. Some people tan and look nice and natural, and then there is that tanning mom. Some people get a little surgery and look refreshed and natural, and then there is that Jocelyn Wildenstein. Some people bleach and look nice and natural, and then there is that death pallor or skin damage. I watched this:
All I know for sure is that I could NOT stand putting 40 volume developer all over my skin, 20 volume burns like hell when it gets on my face when I get my bangs lifted to go red. I also could NOT stand using strong steroid cream all over my body. I heard the doctor mention Clobetasol, that is gonna do some major damage.
