Yesterday was april 20 a day for reform advocates to publically show / voice their opposition to the current legal situations in their own respective countries. Here in Canada, a recent lotto winner from B.C. is donating 1 millon dollars to help the cause. As part of that contribution he has donated some $125,000.00 to support this years event the money was used for planning and promoting, as well as info booths ect. I was unable to attend this year due to work, but it is good to see people gather for the cause dispite the rather cold spring we are having. In previous years, large crowds were observed at our legislative grounds, peacefully expressing their freedom. I am thankfull to live in a nation where change can happen and people can protest legally without fear and oppression. As the snow falls this morning, my thoughts turn to the warm island of Jamaica and I wonder how 4:20 is celebrated there? As a former British colony, do citizens in Jam. have the same freedom to protest as the rest of us? Were there any demonstraions held in Kingston or Mo Bay? Is there a legislative lobby group that advocates for the 4:20 event, and do people participate in Jamaica? I do not want to start a pro/con arguement here, just curious about wha gwan over der.
