That is so sad. WOW. What a tragedy! Of course I will pray or their dear souls and the rest of the school who are suffering the trauma. My God. Im shocked! Bless them all!
It's so sad to hear, more and more, about children taking their lives. My heart goes out to their families and friends. I've experienced three suicides in my lifetime: my ex took his own life six months after I told him he would have to move out and clean up his (alcoholic) act. A year later, my sister's husband (again, following the breakdown of the marriage after 30 years). And a couple of years later, a close colleague took her own life. It's very difficult to comprehend and I can only imagine how the family is feeling when it's a child.
That's why I left Social Work - two teens I was working with (15 and 13) at a residential facility committed suicide. (at the time my daughter was 13 and had the same shoes as the thirteen year older)
Meanwhile outside of work, , a dear friend (and another social worker)daughter (16) committed suicide. The family tried everything but could not find anything to ease the child's depression.
I tried to move on from there but when a young teen I was working with at a Jr High School in Maine became suicidal it took me over the top. I had to leave my graduate program - i couldn't separate work and home .
