I met two little Jamaican boys last fall. They are now 3 and 7. I take care of them every now and then. This summer I had them for almost a week. We had fun times with the sprinkler and friends pools.
They love to help cook “chefâ€, they enjoy Windy and I love the pieces out of them. Mom had a big test at school this am so I had them over night. I was planning on making chicken and pasta but when she dropped them off she returned my food containers. I clued her in that if you return them to me I will fill them up again with food.. This time they came back with curried chicken and rice. So that was dinner.
The kids have called me Dawn, Miss Dawn and Auntie Dawn but this was the first time it was discussed what to call me. Gaga asked his mom if it was ok to call me Auntie Dawn. She said yes..you should. She explained how easy the kids now had it. She explained if you ever called a person older than you by their first name, you got a beating. Gagaâ€s eyes got big. And “yes, if you walked by someone on the street and didnâ€t say good morning, by the time you got home Mama knew you didnâ€t do the proper greeting and you got beat again.â€
So Auntie Dawn it is!
Started the morning with giving the boys a bath! They really had fun with my pink rubber duckies in the tub but my bathroom ended up being soaked. They look so harmless na true?
Great morning!
