Hey Wit! Thanks for posting this, I didn't see it (or much else lately, been knee-deep this week.) It's a really good overview of the situation. I simply don't understand why this problem is so generally under the radar. And as for the climate-change deniers -- I don't think there is any group scarier. I don't usually worry my head with self-destructive people, but they have no right to drag the rest of us to hell. By the way, and in reference to the complexity of this issue, some of us were talking before about seaweed as garden compost. As i delved into the topic, I learned that seaweeds, those lying in unsightly piles on the beach, are vital to the life cycles of countless kinds of sea life -- so if any of you decide to haul some back to your gardens, rinse it off first at the beach so they can find elswhere to hang out |
