Had a late start
Yeah that's more normal to get near 50/50-60/40 female to male ratio. I think the Haze x Haze x Haze/Thai male that I used in what I sent you last season just has more female alleles that pass through to the seeds. The stuff this year used a kush type male for most of them. Wet and rainy here too, but the plants are still looking great (and fairly huge for Michigan) right now. But I'm running 65 gallon pots per plant this year. Hopefully we get less rain as they get closer to the end of the season.

More roots = bigger fruits according to Tah, who should have received some blueberry berries within the last couple of days.

From pot plants to blueberries.
It was a good conversation to read. Since too much water is not wanted late in the season, can plastic be placed on top of the pots's pots to stop the rain from getting into the soil? extensively edited

CBB; dude... I don't know what any of that is about? Why would I not want rain to reach the roots? And they're fabric pots, not drums. Why not contribute in a constructive manner? I do not need "advice", I have been doing these things for decades... I don't think I'll ever understand why you post in the way that you do. We're having a nice conversation here, why not join the discussion, sincerely? It just seems like you enjoy the low key trolling, but I do not. I endeavor to speak clearly, concisely, and accurately. Generally with a positive vibe, until I'm prodded.
Anyhow, Firemon, I will check my po box tomorrow, I haven't been there in a bit. Good looking out Firemon! I'd suggest that when you get into the Pine Tar seeds, that you do a diluted peroxide soak for a couple hours. Most of the Pine Tar crosses I ran this year got a bit of Leaf Septoria fungus, which I think has to be from the seed husk. It's only on the Pine Tar crosses, and nothing else. Fungal spores can survive on the seed husk for a long time. Dilute distilled water by 10% with drugstore peroxide (3%), and soak them. Then pop them in whatever way you normally do, and you'll be good to go. But again, those, and the MB15 x RWC are producing some real monsters. N75; yes, I'm progressively moving to larger and larger containers. More roots; more fruits... indeed. I have a few that should hit the 4-5# mark, if things finish out well. In northern California, they usually use 100-225 gallon fabric pots, and those boys are pulling up to 20# from a single plant. I'll never hit those numbers here in Michigan, but I think 5-10 is doable. The beautiful thing is that the way our laws are written here, I can possess any amount of herb, as long as I grew it. 1000#? No problem.

TAH that's great news all the way around. Awesome you reap what you sow in Michigan!!
I know you had a rough run with things this year, hopefully you get a couple to finish nicely! Good luck.
edit; sending you some pics of the Jamaican plants I'm working with this year. Just cut the males down today, they have done their work. I had planned to make crosses using several different males this year, but life got complicated. So I just used my Jamaican males to pollinate everything. So it goes. But I'm very impressed with the Jamaican... one of the males in particular. My hopes are high for the progeny.

I just wanted to follow up. I feel a little bad about the tone of my response to CBB. Perhaps you're just trying to engage... I just wish that if you're going to do that in an ongoing conversation about a given "thing", that you try not to derail it too much.
As to the rain thing, I will answer fully. You don't need anything, even if you did want to keep water off the pot. The plant canopy itself keeps most rain from actually getting into the pot, which is more a pain in the butt than a convenience. I generally want that rain, except for very late season when I want more control. But if you were to cover it like that, it leads to other problems...

I must say that I enjoy my participation on this board "Yellowboard" and I know that often times I make comments that I look back on and say "Shoot that isn't what I wanted to say" so I appreciate it when others take my comment with a grain of salt. I think we all have a positive vibration towards one another and hope that we all can appreciate the old saying "To err is human to forgive is divine"...
