I did not know that wait-staff in a Ja restaurant are not paid half the hourly rate, which is a practice in the USA.
Therefore, my standard 15 percent will be no more.
If service is good in the USA, 20 or 25 percent is not unusual from me. From now on, if I get great service on the island, 5 or 10 % will be considered.
If a SC is on the bill, it is not optional. If it's above 10 percent, I would find another restaurant.
Elsewhere is a discussion and mentions misinformation. Interesting is that in 2019, it itself had a minor error:
a service charge allows the business to provide a steady wage year round.
