So it looks like we are going to get quite the blizzard here in Chicago over tomorrow and Wednesday.
They are saying it could be worse than the blizzard of '67. But I've heard anywhere from 12" to 23". UGH!!!!!

Just 12 more days and we'll get to thaw on the beach. I am grateful that we aren't traveling this week and I really hope that we'll have good weather in a couple weeks so we can get to Negril. This trip will definitely be needed!!!

Keri, are you in a single family home? If so, make sure you check your roof for ice dams after this storm and before you leave. While I was in Mexico in December, we had a 25 inch snowfall... then a freeze and quick thaw. I came home to an ice dam (this house had NEVER had one)that was causing water damage inside my home. Something I've never had to do but is now on my list: Have someone pre-hired to check the roof in case of a major snowfall and shovel it if necessary while I'm gone.
Be safe through this coming storm. Here in MPLS it's snowing; only at about 4 inches and not expecting too much more.

I wish we were just getting snow - Freezing rain has started already (wasn't supposed to start until late this afternoon) We are expecting at least 1/2" - 1" of the stuff --- Then we are going to get the second punch of 6"-12" of snow --- THEN the temperature will drop (like 20 degrees isn't cold enough) with high winds.

I have food, salt and ice melt, wood for the fireplace, a few good books and four cats to keep me warm. Wish I had a trip planned. At least I'd have something to look forward to.
