I haven't seen any here for the past two days

1st hummer of the season to my window feeder.

I got so excited yesterday. I thought the hummingbirds were long gone from our area (50 miles north of NYC) but Bob and I were sitting on the deck around 5PM having a glass of wine and one landed on the feeder. Just one (a female) but it stayed for awhile. We haven't seen any in weeks. Kind of guessing that it was just passing through from further north. Just in case there are more I am putting new nectar out today.

I love the hummingbirds - sometimes they come to enjoy my flowers, I know the flowers as "pinks" or "lamb's ears" - don't know the real name.

Sharleen, I know you miss your little Roamie Doodle Dandy dearly, it does make for an empty feeling. One day, in time, perhaps a new little love will come along. All my pets come to me as strays or rescues.
