From what I have read and seen pics of, it is a beautiful area with lovely beaches and not really "touristy" and would like to know more about what are some good places to stay there, so would love to know all anyone can tell me about the region....

I love the south coast and always look at Belmont and Bluefields longingly - one day I'll do more than just drive through, lol. On our first motorcycle trip of the season we rode out to get shrimp at Auntie's and UJ's but made a stop in Cave (just north of Bluefields) at a little place called Casa Mariner. It looks adorable: http://wstcountywstend.wordpress.com/2012/04/25/back-on-the-back-of-the-bike/ On our LAST ride of the season we stopped off at Bluefields beach for a while. The northern part of the beach is where we stopped - there's a little restaurant there and that part of the beach is all rock. Pretty, but not a place to lay a blanket, lol. The southern part of the beach is sandy but the cop shop is RIGHT there. Its a beautiful area - one day I'll spend more time...but have driven through many times.
