Negril...something different - ohliz - 06-04-2013 Hiya. I've just been informed that the band I've traveled to Negril with in the past is going again next April. Yay for friends and music and fun and Jamaica. Boo for Negril. I'm pretty done with the place for anything more than a night, would never choose it for my own vacation. That said, I'm going to need to spend a week there and I have a lot of friends looking to me to find a place we can all stay at and enjoy. In the past I've put our group at Beach House Villas, Seastar and Catcha Gardens/ocean side. Catcha is still a possibility but is so booked up these days that getting the entire group there is probably not going to work. Overflow at Gardens was OK last time, though less than ideal to walk from one friend's to another's at 3AM along that stretch of road. Seastar was a bargain when we stayed but their rates have doubled and there is the same walk from Catcha. I am open to beach or cliffs, though I do enjoy being near 3 Dives so Xtabi might work. Can anyone suggest a place that may be new that i am not aware of? A place that can accommodate maybe a dozen people in various levels of comfort and cost? A place with a good central gathering area? Beach House was great as we had the huge roof deck to play music and hang out and not bother anyone...Catcha worked with restaurant and pool to gather and Moon porch for music, Seastar had the pool area... I appreciate the guidance
Re: Negril...something different - wit - 06-04-2013 Charlie has sold Home Sweet Home so not sure what kind of deal you can negotiate with the new owners....but ...good location and lots of meeting spaces like a huge sundeck. Just a thought.
Re: Negril...something different - suzengrace - 06-04-2013 The garden side xtabi-clean and reasonable-and got the bar/rest.ocean access-and yes, close to 3 dives... Dont know of any new places-I dont get to that area too much these days Re: Negril...something different - sammyb - 06-04-2013 I would suggest Rayon pansy goes out of her way to accomdat her guest
Re: Negril...something different - booger - 06-04-2013 I would look at Seastar in rooms 17-20. It is their new building with a large rooftop deck. You could book all 4 rooms as well as a couple others and have the new building with deck all to yourself. $99 a night is a great value for what you get at Seastar. A few rooms in the back are $79 as well for those who want to save a few pennies.
Re: Negril...something different - RGondaRoad - 06-04-2013 Would your folks consider renting Lantrissant again?
